In the highly competitive market of automotive design, Subaru must adapt quickly
to new standards in safety and fuel economy. To satisfy the control quality level
required in Subaru’s first production model hybrid vehicle, the XV Crosstrek
Hybrid, the automaker needed to create strenuous test conditions that are difficult
to achieve using real machines. Subaru used LabVIEW to quickly rotate through
environmental simulations and perform stringent tests in significantly less time
while adding new tests that were previously impossible. This ultimately produced
a safer, more economical vehicle.

Ensuring the quality and safety of modern airplanes requires a manufacturing and assembly process that includes tens of thousands of steps. From tool choice to the tightness of bolts, even the slightest mistake in this process could cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to fix. Using LabVIEW to design prototypes and deploy code to smaller form factors, Airbus developed smart tools that understand operator actions, automatically adjust to proper settings, and monitor and log results—all in a tenth of the time a traditional approach takes. National Grid UK

As energy demand increases and fossil fuel plants are decommissioned, the power industry is facing a critical evolution. Limited by traditional measurement systems that require significant downtime for upgrades, transmission system operator National Grid UK used LabVIEW to create and deploy an advanced grid measurement system that can be upgraded in real time without the need for downtime. This solution depends on the modularity and flexibility that LabVIEW provides to drop in new code functionality as needed.
